Get spinning girl: The top spinning classes in London

From pool biking to Olympics inspired classes, indoor cycling is no longer simply sitting on a stationary bike for an hour. With fitness fans pedalling furiously around the UK, and with the fit-fash pack’s fave SoulCycle rumoured to hit British shores sooner rather than later, we’ve rounded up the top spinning classes in London to try, and to hopefully inspire you to go and get your spin on. High resistance 100% optional.

Psycle – Oxford Circus & Canary Wharf

Prepare to rave indoors at fashion editor favourite Psycle. Claiming to offer seven different workouts in one 45 minute class, Psycle incorporates stability exercises, light hand-weights and dance. If you ever worry about spinning giving you bulky thighs, then fear no more as the cleated shoes provided encourage a lean physique. Our tip, try Sal’s class for guaranteed fun.

Edge Cycle – Holborn

Promising to burn up to 1000 calories in one 45 minute class, Edge Bootcamp combines the cardio power of spinning with the fat burning power of HIIT (high intensity interval training). With half the session taking place on the bike and half on the floor, this class is guaranteed to make you sweat.

Aquallure – Pimlico

Ever fancied spinning underwater? Pool biking, which was originally designed to rehab injured athletes has arrived on English soil. With half your body submerged in the pool, pedalling against water creates high resistance, meaning you work twice as hard as in a regular class. It also has no impact on joints and improves breathing capacity and endurance.

Aquallure, Dolphin Square Fitness Club, Chicester Street. £20 For Non Members.

Rebel Ride at 1Rebel – Bank & Liverpool Street

Known as the KING OF GYMS, London’s fave fitness boutique offers the coolest spin class in town. A full-body workout incorporating weights, bands and high-tech bikes, each Rebel Ride is accompanied by a DJ, with special live classes including a band (we hear there was a saxophonist) on offer in the evenings. Furthermore, with a smoothie bar on site, however much you ache there is always a post-workout smoothie to go down a treat.

1Rebel, Various Locations. £20 Per Session.

Offering express 30 minute workouts for a quick, instant spin sesh, alongside a 45-minute high intensity music focussed work out otherwise known as BOOM Cycle’s themed rides, you will be sure to get your sweat on any day of the week. Beats. Bike. BOOM!

Cyclebeat – Monument

Located in the heart of the city, Cyclebeat is the class for those with a competitive side.
