All of us here at Active In Style HQ were extremely excited to hear of the Detox Kitchen’s new Deli that opened earlier this month. Offering breakfast, lunch and dinner options, smoothies and juices and guilt-free treats that are refined sugar, gluten and dairy free – the Detox Deli is the perfect pit stop for a healthy, wholesome and delicious meal or snack at any time of the day.
We sent along our resident blogger Zsa Zsa to select her top picks of all that’s on offer & here is what she found…
Nestled amongst the array of boutiques and restaurants on Kingly Street Soho, I excitedly made my way into the new Detox Deli at 108 Kingly Street. Upon my arrival I was greeted with the Pure Goodness juice – a vibrant green blend of apple, celery, spinach and mint.
Immediately drawn to the colorful array of fresh, seasonal salads and hearty mains on offer, my eyes fixated upon a platter of roasted aubergine boats topped with soy yoghurt, pomegranate and mint. As no lunch would be complete without a side of salad, I made the difficult decision of selecting two to accompany my main – a delectable quinoa concoction featuring a nutrient dense combination of cashews and pumpkin seeds, golden raisins, peppers, spring onions, spinach and coriander and a roasted butternut squash, wild rice, hazelnut and rosemary delight. These two deliciously healthy combinations made for a fragrantly satisfying arrangement of sweet, crunchy and crispy goodnesss sure to satisfy even the unhealthiest of eaters!
No trip to the Detox Kitchen would be complete without trying out one of the many guilt-free desserts they have on offer. I decided on sampling a slice of the decadent raw cacao and beetroot brownie (recipe below). Featuring antioxidant rich beetroot and sweetened with honey and cacao – this raw delight was the perfect end to an afternoon well spent!

Raw Caco & Beetroot Brownies Recipe
- 600g peeled raw beetroot
- 8 eggs
- 550g runny honey
- 1 tsp salt
- 420g gluten free flour
- 200g pure cacao powder
- 4 tsp baking powder
Cut the beetroot in half and put in a glass bowl covered with cling film and pop it in the microwave for 10 mins. Meanwhile put eggs, honey and salt in a blender (the detox kitchen uses a kenwood) and mix for 5 mins. Weigh out all dry ingredients and sieve before combining in another bowl. Once the beetroot has cooked, blitz in a food processor (the detox kitchen uses a magimix) and add to the blender – blending with the dry ingredients. Once blended, pour into a lined baking tray and bake for 30 mins at 170 degress. Cool, cut, and enjoy without a guilty conscience!
